HE'S BEEN A FIREMAN FOR THE LAST 21 IN 2018 , THE MARYSVILLE DIVISION OF FIRE INVESTED IN A TRAINING OF LOCAL FIRE AND EMS PROFESSIONALS IN THE COMMUNITY PARA MEDICINE PROGRAM AT THE TIME. THIS WAS A NEW HEALTH CARE MODEL THAT ALLOWED PARAMEDICS TO OPERATE IN AN EXPANDED ROLE IN OUR COMMUNITY. TO PREVENT FURTHER CRISIS SERVICES MIGHT BEGAN AS ONE OF THE VERY FIRST PARAMEDICS IN PROFESSIONALS IN OUR COUNTY AND REMAINS THE CHAMPION OF THE PROGRAM TODAY, LIKE MANY COMMUNITIES IN OHIO, UNION COUNTY HAS FACED THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC IN HIS CREATED A SURGE OF EMERGENCY RESPONSES RELATED TO OVERDOSES IN THE PAST, 12 MONTHS ALONE, MARYSVILLE DIVISION OF FIRE HAS ASSISTED WITH OVER 50 OF THESE OVERDOSE RESPONSES. MIKE HAS OFTEN BEEN ON THE SCENE DURING THE TIME OF THIS AND IS OFTEN FOLLOWED UP WITH INFORMATION RELATED TO LOCAL RESOURCE IS MAKING CALLS ON BEHALF OF THESE INDIVIDUALS AND EVEN GETTING THEM FOOD OR OTHER BASIC ITEMS WHEN NEEDED.
