UM, MR BURBY WENT ON THESE IN THE PAST, BUT AS PART OF THAT TRIP WE WILL BE MEETING WITH FOUR OR FIVE AUTOMOTIVE RELATED COMPANIES ON THAT TRIP, JUST AS, UH, A COUPLE THAT ARE HERE EXISTING IN OUR COMMUNITY BUT ALSO A COUPLE OF POTENTIAL AND SOME WITH SOME INTEREST IN MARYSVILLE. SO UH, THAT'S THE TRIP. WE LEAVE ON A THURSDAY AND COME BACK OUT ON A SATURDAY MORNING FOR THAT TRIP, SO AND THEN LAST, UH, JUST WANTED TO BRIEF CITY COUNCIL ON, UM, A REQUEST FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF MORSY FOR HAS REQUESTED A PRESENCE OF DIFFERENT CITIES THAT ARE GOING TO BE INVOLVED WITH THE STOP ON THE PASSENGER RAIL. SO I WILL BE ATTENDING WITH MORTS AND SEVERAL OTHER CITY MANAGERS THAT WILL HAVE STOPS ON PASSENGER RAIL ON A TRIP TO, UH, FLORIDA TO ORLANDO, WHERE WE TAKE THE PASSENGER RAIL. FROM ORLANDO TO FORT LAUDERDALE, AND WE MEET WITH OFFICIALS THAT ARE INVOLVED WITH THE PASSENGER RAIL IN FLORIDA. THE IMPACT HOW IT WORKS . IT'S GOING TO BE A REALLY NEAT TRIP, BUT WHAT'S AWESOME IS OBVIOUSLY WE'RE INCLUDED, AND WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A STOP ON THE PASSENGER RAIL. WHEN THAT TIME COMES, SO I'LL BRIEF YOU A LITTLE BIT ON THE RESULTS OF THAT TRIP WHEN WE RETURN, BUT IT'S ON THE SAME TWO DAYS THAT ERIC AND DONALD WILL BE IN DETROIT AS WELL. SO AND WITH THAT. CITYWIDE UH, OUR PARKS FOLKS ARE , UH, ADDING A THIN LAYER OF GRAVEL TO TOP OFF THE MACIVER WOODS TRAIL, UH, AND ARE STARTING A TREE INVENTORY AT THE OAKDALE CEMETERY. UH, WATER. UH, THE CONTINUE TO INSTALL WATER SERVICES ON WEST THIRD. AND UH, THROUGH MANY, UH, WEEKS OF PUMPING. THE RESERVOIR IS COMPLETELY FULL AS WE HEAD INTO, UH, WARMER WEATHER. UH AND THEN WASTEWATER WISE, UH, CITY CREWS ARE PERFORMING MINOR REPAIRS OUT AT THE WRF, UH AND CLEANING UP PORTIONS OF THE COLLECTION SITE. UH AN ANNOUNCEMENT. UH UH, IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS, UH, AND THEN FINALLY, UH, AS IT RELATES TO THE ELWOOD AVENUE PROJECT AND WRAPPING THAT UP, UH, OUR CONTRACTOR PLANS TO FINISH A STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS. YOU HAVE TWO PEOPLE GIVEN THESE FIRST WE HAVE MATT MCALLS FROM ONE COLUMBUS. HE'S GONNA PROVIDE YOU A REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE FROM A REGIONAL PERSPECTIVE AND HOW THEY'RE WORKING ON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. UM, WE BELIEVE THAT THE BEST WAY TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES, UM IS THROUGH JOB OPPORTUNITIES. UM AND, UH, OPPORTUNITIES OF BEING ABLE TO SUSTAIN, UM, A QUALITY OF LIFE, UM, THAT YOU MAY NOT OTHERWISE, UM AND SO WE WORK WITH OUR LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PRACTITIONERS. UM YOU KNOW, PEOPLE LIKE ERIC AND YOU ALL IN MARYSVILLE, UM, TO FOCUS ON MAKING SURE THAT WE RETAIN THE COMPANIES YOU HAVE IN YOUR MARKET. UH, WORK WITH THEM WHEN THEY'RE READY TO EXPAND TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY HAVE GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES IN YOUR MARKET, AND OBVIOUSLY WE WORK TO DIVERSIFY OUR ECONOMIC BASE AS WELL. UM SO THAT'S REALLY WHAT THIS IS ABOUT. UM AND I JUST WANTED TO START WITH THIS BECAUSE YOU KNOW, IT'S A BOLD VISION TO BE THE MOST PROSPEROUS REGION IN THE COUNTRY. UM, BUT I THINK WE'RE ON OUR WAY AND WE'RE GROWING DIFFERENTLY THAN SOME OF THE OTHER AREAS ARE DEFINITELY AROUND THE STATE OF OHIO. UM BUT EVEN SOME OF OUR TOP COMPETITION I THINK WE HAVE A MODERATE GROWTH RATE RIGHT NOW, UM I'LL TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT AND IT'S A MANAGEABLE GROWTH RATE. SO I WANT TO TALK ABOUT HOW WE KIND OF GOT TO WHERE WE ARE TODAY. UM, SO YOU KNOW, WE'VE HAD SOME TREMENDOUS SUCCESS OVER THE PAST 13 YEARS. UM 770 PROJECTS SUCCESSFULLY LOCATED OR EXPANDED IN OUR MARKET. UM NEARLY $4 BILLION IN CAPITAL INVESTMENT 45 OR I'M SORRY. 45 BILLION IN CAPITAL INVESTMENT 4 BILLION IN PAYROLL, WHICH I KNOW IS CRITICALLY IMPORTANT TO CITY COFFERS. UM AND 72,000 JOBS COMMITTED, UH TO OUR REGION, AND THAT'S JUST OVER THE PAST 13

YEARS, AND THESE ARE ECONOMIC BASED COMPANIES. UM THESE ARE COMPANIES THAT ARE IMPORTING WEALTH IN OUR REGION NOT CIRCULATING. WELL, THESE AREN'T RESTAURANTS THAT SORT THE THING.UM IT MIGHT BE A DISTRIBUTOR THAT DISTRIBUTES RESTAURANT EQUIPMENT ACROSS THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES. UM, BUT THEY'RE ALL ECONOMIC BASED JOBS. AND YOU KNOW YOU MIGHT FIND THIS KIND OF SURPRISING, BUT, UH, A GOOD PORTION OF OUR PAYROLL AND OUR CAPITAL INVESTMENT HAS ACTUALLY BEEN INVESTED OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS. SO TWO THIRDS OF THAT 45 BILLION HAS BEEN INVESTED IN THE PAST TWO YEARS. 25% OF THE 4 BILLION ALMOST 4 BILLION IN PAYROLL HAS BEEN CREATED IN THE PAST TWO YEARS. MOST OF THESE JOBS HAVE NOT EVEN ACTUALLY BEEN CREATED. YET THEY'RE COMMITTED.
MOST OF THESE PROJECTS ARE ACTUALLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION RIGHT NOW, UM AND YOU KNOW, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A DS, UH AND ILLUMINATE USA, WHICH ACTUALLY JUST HAD THEIR SECOND HIRING EVENT. UM MOST OF THESE COMPANIES ARE STILL BUILDING THE BUILDINGS THAT THEY'RE GOING TO BE EMPLOYING ALL THESE PEOPLE. UM BUT I JUST WANT TO SHOW YOU SOME OF THE DIVERSITY THAT WE'VE BEEN ABLE TO ATTRACT. WE'VE HAD DATA CENTERS. UM AND WE'VE HAD OBVIOUSLY A LOT OF MANUFACTURING. UM A DS WAS AN ENGINEERING CENTER ATTACHED TO THEIR HEADQUARTERS. SO WE'VE ACTUALLY BEEN BLESSED WITH HAVING YOU KNOW, NOT JUST, UH, LOGISTICS AND DISTRIBUTION OR NOT JUST DATA CENTERS, BUT WE'VE HAD A LOT OF MANUFACTURING AND EVEN SOME, UH, MIX IN WITH OFFICE AS WELL, A MATTER OF FACT ONE OF THEM THAT'S NOT ON HERE. UM WHICH WAS A GREAT PROJECT LAST YEAR, I WAS A 350 JOBS BY WELLS FARGO. THEY'RE PUTTING A, UM UM, A CENTER HERE. THAT'S GONNA BE SUPPORTING THE TECHNOLOGY NEEDS OF ALL THE WELLS FARGO FRONT OFFICES AROUND THE COUNTRY. UM AND IT'S COMMITTED TO 350 JOBS. UM AND YOU KNOW, THOSE ARE ANOMALIES NOW, UM AND I'LL I'LL TALK ABOUT , UH, KIND OF WHERE WE'RE GOING IN A MINUTE. UM, OR AT LEAST WHERE WE THINK WE MIGHT BE GOING. BUT THIS IS THE SUCCESS WE'VE HAD, UM AND AGAIN. A LOT OF IT'S BEEN CONCENTRATED THE PAST TWO YEARS, UM, IN IN THE PAYROLL SIDE IN THE CAPITAL INVESTMENT. WE'RE LEADING THE MIDWEST, WHICH IS ALSO, UM YOU KNOW, PRETTY ASTOUNDING. SO THIS IS THE PAST 10 YEARS? UH, 2012 TO 2022. YOU CAN SEE THAT. YOU KNOW, WE'VE OUTPACED EVERYBODY IN OHIO. IT'S PRETTY SIGNIFICANTLY. UM INDIANAPOLIS IS CATCHING UP TO US. UM, ESPECIALLY IF YOU LOOK AT THE PAST THREE YEARS. UM, THEY'VE ACTUALLY SURPASSED US IN JOB GROWTH. UM, WE ARE STILL GROWING FASTER THAN THEM AS A METROPOLITAN AREA, THOUGH. UM, BUT WE'RE BASICALLY NECK AND NECK WITH INDIANAPOLIS AND PRETTY MUCH HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE THE REST OF THE MIDWEST. BUT WHEN YOU LOOK THE POPULATION GROWTH AMONG SOME OF THE TOP CITIES. TOP PERFORMING CITIES NOW WE DON'T WANT TO EMULATE ALL THESE CITIES. UM WE DEFINITELY DON'T WANT THE HEADACHES THAT AUSTIN HAS RIGHT NOW, BUT WE'D HAVE TO BE GROWING AT THREE TIMES THE RATE WE'RE GROWING AT RIGHT NOW TO EVEN ECLIPSE WHAT THEY'RE GROWING AT. SO THEY'RE DOING IT. THEY'RE DOING IT, YOU KNOW, MODERATELY SUCCESSFULLY. UM BUT THEY COST OF LIVING IS INCREASING THE TRAFFIC THERE IS INCREASING. UM, BUT I THINK MOST PEOPLE WOULD AGREE THAT YOU KNOW PLACES LIKE CHARLOTTE. THEY'RE GROWING VERY MANAGEABLE. UM, THEIR HOUSING HAS STAYED IN CHECK. THEIR HOUSING COSTS ARE LOWER THAN OURS. STILL TODAY, YET THEY'RE GROWING MUCH MORE QUICKLY THAN WE ARE. UM, SO YOU KNOW, THERE ARE WAYS TO GROW SMARTLY. AND WHAT WE WANNA DO IS WE WANNA MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE YOU KNOW, TAKING THE BEST PRACTICES FROM AROUND THE COUNTRY, UM AND INSTITUTING THEM ACROSS OUR REGION OR AT LEAST BRINGING THOSE BEST PRACTICES INTO THE MARKETPLACE. UM YOU KNOW, YOU ALL CAN DECIDE HOW YOU WANT TO GROW WHERE YOU WANNA GROW WHEN YOU WANNA GROW, BUT WE CAN SHOW YOU YOU KNOW, THERE ARE WAYS THAT YOU CAN DO IT. LIKE I WANT TO TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WHERE WE'RE HEADING. AND THIS IS OUR PIPELINE. THIS IS WHAT'S IN OUR YOU KNOW, THESE ARE THE OPPORTUNITIES RIGHT NOW THAT WE HAVE, UM, THAT ARE CONSIDERING OUR MARKET EITHER FOR EXPANSION. UM OR, YOU KNOW A NEW OPERATION. AND UM, YOU KNOW, WE'VE GOT A PRETTY PRETTY ROBUST PIPELINE. UM IT'S BEEN MORE ROBUST IN THE PAST. UM I'D BE REMISS IF I IF I DIDN'T MENTION THAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO 100 AND 20 PROJECTS AT ONE TIME. UM, 130. WE'RE AT 92 ACTIVE PROJECTS. UH, 54 ARE MANUFACTURING PROJECTS. 54% OF THEM ARE MANUFACTURING PROJECTS.
UM 13% OF LOGISTICS AND DISTRIBUTION. 12% ARE HEADQUARTERS IN OFFICE. UM I CAN TELL YOU AND I'LL SHOW YOU IN A MINUTE THAT THAT NUMBER HAS CHANGED SIGNIFICANTLY. UM, SINCE THE PANDEMIC. WE USED TO HAVE A LOT MORE OFFICE PROJECTS THAN WE HAVE. NOW WE USED TO HAVE A FAR FEWER MANUFACTURING PROJECTS BEFORE THE EFFORTS TO RESO. UM A LOT OF THESE INITIATIVES HAVE OCCURRED. UM, AND OBVIOUSLY, YOU KNOW, YOU ALL ARE ARE ARE PRIMED TO BENEFIT FROM A LOT OF THIS DEVELOPMENT BECAUSE YOU KNOW YOU ARE A GREAT MANUFACTURING LOCATION. UM AND SO, UM, I JUST LIKE TO PLANT THAT SEED. I'LL GET TO A BIT MORE IN A SECOND, BUT I'M 60% OF THESE PROJECTS WOULD BE NEW INVESTMENTS TO OUR REGION. THESE ARE COMPANIES THAT ARE NOT ALREADY HERE. UM THERE ARE COMPANIES THAT ARE THINKING ABOUT COMING INTO OUR MARKETPLACE FOR THE FIRST TIME TO MAKE THE FIRST TIME INVESTMENT WHICH THESE 40% ARE EXPANSION PROJECTS WHERE WE'RE WORKING, TYPICALLY WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, UM JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT THE COMPANY IS STAY AND GROW IN THEIR MARKETPLACE. UM 15% ARE SEMICONDUCTOR RELATED ? UH, 17 11% ARE, UM ED BATTERY

UM, POTENTIALLY TO LOCATE AS WELL AS SOME OF OUR SEMICONDUCTOR SUPPLY CHAIN AS WELL. I KNOW WE'VE HAD SOME OUT IN YOUR MARKET. UM AND I THINK THAT WE'RE GONNA CONTINUE TO SEE, ESPECIALLY AS THE INTEL PROJECT GETS INTO THE NEXT PHASE . UM OF CONSTRUCTION. UM THERE, THERE CAN BE A LOT MORE OF THOSE PROJECTS IN OUR PIPELINE. I'D ALSO SAY IF IT WASN'T FOR HONDA'S COMMITMENT TO ELECTRIC VEHICLES AND THE BATTERY PROJECT , THEY HAVE 12 MILES SOUTH OF OUR SOUTHERN BORDER. UH AND COUNTY LITERALLY IS 12 MILES FROM FROM OUR SOUTHERN BORDER OF OUR REGION. UM YOU KNOW, WE'D BE MISSING ABOUT 25% OF OUR PIPELINE RIGHT NOW. SO THEY HAVE A MUCH STRONGER INVENTORY THAN WE HAVE. THEY HAVE MUCH LOWER COST OF HOUSING. AND IT IS APPLES TO APPLES. WE'RE WE'RE BEING TOLD THIS BY DEVELOPERS THAT ACTUALLY HAVE PRODUCT IN THEIR MARKET AS WELL AS OURS. SOME OF THESE LARGE DEVELOPERS, UM, THAT, UH, DO BUSINESS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. INDIANAPOLIS AND COLUMBUS ARE PRETTY COMPARABLE, UM, ON PAPER, SO THEY HAVE A LOT OF COMMON DEVELOPERS. UM AND SO I'LL JUST CONCLUDE WITH THAT.
