UH, CITY CREWS ARE PERFORMING, UH, BASEBALL DIAMOND MAINTENANCE AT PARK AND THAT INCLUDE, UH, DOING A LITTLE BIT OF TO THE DUGOUTS AND, UH, THE EXISTING, UH, BACKSTOP FENCE. UPCOMING US 33 REPAIR PROJECT IS SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY. UH, ONCE WE GET AN IDEA OF SCHEDULE AND TIME FRAME AND THINGS LIKE THAT WE WILL BE SURE TO PASS ON THE CONTRACTOR. PROJECT CONTRACTOR CONTINUES WORKING ON STORM WATER WORK ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE ROAD THAT'S OUTSIDE THE ROADWAY, SO NO IMPACT TO TRAFFIC. UM IS EXPECTED DURING THIS WORK. THE SECOND UPDATE IS THE 31 IN CREEK VIEW ROUNDABOUT. UH WE'LL HAVE A CONTRACTOR MOBILIZE THIS WEEK TO DO THE LANDSCAPE WORK INSIDE THAT CENTER MEDIAN ISLAND. UM AND THEN THE LAST UPDATE I HAVE IS ON THE 2024 PAVING PROGRAM LAST FRIDAY. WE OPENED BIDS ON THAT. THE BUDGET THIS YEAR WAS 1.3 MILLION. STRASSER. PAVING COMPANY CAME IN AT 1,360,000 60,000 OVER OUR BUDGET, SO THOSE ARE ALL THE UPDATES. WE HAVE I DO HAVE I DO HAVE ONE MORE ITEM. IF THAT'S OK, UH UH, I JUST WANTED TO. I NEED COUNSEL'S PERMISSION FOR THIS. I WAS HAD RECEIVED SOME CORRESPONDENCE LATE LAST WEEK. UH ABOUT A REQUEST FROM WILLIAM MURDOCH, THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF MORSI, WHO HAD APPROACHED ME ABOUT, UM MORSI IS CONVENING A NEW PASSENGER RAIL ADVISORY GROUP.

UM TO PROVIDE A CENTRAL BODY FOR CORRIDOR ID STUDY TEAMS THROUGH THE ONGOING PLANNING PROCESS OF PASSENGER RAIL HERE IN CENTRAL OHIO. THEY WILL ASSIST THIS COMMITTEE WILL ASSIST BY PRODUCING LOCAL INFORMATION AND DATA. COORDINATING MESSAGING, FACILITATING REGIONAL ENGAGEMENT AND BUILDING AND STRENGTHENING COALITIONS NEEDED TO ADVANCE THE CORRIDORS AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE RAILS. OF COURSE, WE'RE LOOKING AT TWO DIFFERENT RAILS, THE RAIL FROM PITTSBURGH TO CHICAGO, WHICH COMES THROUGH COLUMBUS AS WELL AS MARYSVILLE. AND THEN, OF COURSE, THE CLEVELAND UM DAYTON, CLEVELAND, COLUMBUS, DAYTON. AND A RAIL AS WELL AS A AS A SECOND TIER ONE.

I'VE BEEN APPROACHED BY WILLIAM MURDOCH TO BE THE CHAIR OF THIS COMMITTEE MOVING FORWARD IN CENTRAL OHIO, AND I'D LIKE TO ASK FOR COUNCILS FOR PERMISSION FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND ME SERVING IN THIS CAPACITY. FIRST WE GO BACK TO DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY COMMENTS OR JEREMY O'CONNELL? THE ADMINISTRATION. I LIKE STEPHEN FIRST. YEAH, SO, UH, IF YOU TAKE ONE, THE PRINCESS IF I EVER HAVE THE DESIRE TO GO BACK TO CHICAGO, THEN I WOULD AND I WANNA DO IT BY RAIL. I WOULD I HAVE TWO CHOICES. I YOU KNOW THE MAIN THING I THINK I'D JUST LIKE TO MENTION TODAY IS HOW WELL THINGS WENT, UH, I KNOW THERE WAS A TRAFFIC ISSUES AND THERE WERE SOME TRAFFIC ISSUES, OBVIOUSLY ON 33 TODAY, BUT WHAT A WHAT A NEAT, UM TO SEE THE ACTIVITY IN THE COMMUNITY AND SEE PEOPLE MEANDERING ALL OVER. UH, WHETHER IT WAS RIGHT HERE IN THE UPTOWN IN OUR PARKS IN VARIOUS AREAS IN OUR PARKS AROUND TOWN, AS WELL AS EVEN ALONG COLEMAN'S CROSSING , WHERE PEOPLE WERE SETTING UP SHOP AND SOME OF THE LARGER PARKING LOTS AND THINGS LIKE THAT. IT WAS REALLY KIND OF, UH, FUN TO WATCH THE ACTIVITY AND I HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO TALK TO PEOPLE THAT TRAVELED HERE. AND LEFT VIRGINIA AT 5 A.M. YES AND, UH UM ANYWAY LAST WEEK, TWO WEEKS THE WEEK BEFORE EASTER, UM WE HAD A SMALL FAMILY VACATION GOING DOWN TO NASHVILLE. AND UM, THE GOOD FOLKS IN TENNESSEE. I PROUD OF THE FACT THAT THEY DON'T HAVE INCOME TAX. WELL THEY SURE HAVE TAX ON OTHER THINGS. I DID REALIZE IT, BUT BY THE TIME THAT WE WERE DONE PER NIGHT THAT WE STAYED IN A HOTEL THAT WAS $100 IN TAX. IT WAS JUST AMAZING, SO THEY HAD WHAT THEY CALL A RESORT TAX. YEAH AND THEN THEY HAD A TAX ON TOP OF THE RESORT. THE STATE HAS A 10% INCOME TAX. I MEAN, 10% SALES TAX. YEAH. SO I, I THINK IF YOU IF YOU LOOK AT IT OB, OBVIOUSLY WE KNOW THAT THE ANNUAL BUDGET FOR UM UH, FOR THE STATE IS AT THE POINT WHERE 10% IS COMING IN FROM INCOME TAX. IF YOU TAKE, UH SORRY, 25% IT'S ABOUT 10,000,010 BILLION. IF YOU TAKE THAT OUT, YOU HAVE TO COMPENSATE THAT SOMEWHERE ELSE, AND THEN IT COMPENSATING. FROM OTHER VISITORS THAT COME TO YOUR STATE IS DEFINITELY ONE WAY THAT I LEARNED THAT THAT'S HOW THEY DO IT OUT THERE AND, UM AND WHEN WE DID TALK TO, UM WE HAD TO SEE A FEW PEOPLE THAT ARE IN BUSINESS WHEN WE ASK THEM. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE 10% SALES TAX? AND THEY SAID, THAT'S BASICALLY A USER TAX. NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO BUY A CAR AT A CERTAIN PACE. IF YOU CAN AFFORD 20, THEN TO PAY 2000 SALES TAX. IF YOU CAN AFFORD 40, THEN YOU HAVE TO PAY 4000. YEAH SO THEY WOULD NOT REALLY OPPOSED TO THE FACT THAT THEY HAD A HIGHER, UH, SALES TAX. YEAH, WE STILL HAVE ABOUT A 7 7.5% YEAH, BUT IT WAS INTERESTING TO LEARN HOW OTHER COMMUNITIES STATES ARE DOING THAT BECAUSE THEY ALL NEED MONEY . BUT I HAVE TO ADMIT THAT, UM, UM ACTUALLY, I CONDITIONS, EVEN THOUGH 33 MAY NOT BE IDEAL, BUT IT WAS STILL MUCH BETTER THAN WHAT THEY HAD IN NASHVILLE. SO I CAN AT LEAST SAY THAT, UH UM UH, OUR SYSTEM SOMEHOW STILL SEEMS TO WORK, SO BUT SO THAT WAS ONE THING. THE OTHER THING THAT I WANTED TO MENTION, IS THAT UM UH, RECENTLY MY DAUGHTER MOVED INTO MY PREVIOUS HOME, AND SHE'S BEEN DOING SOME REMODELING, AND FOR SOME OF IT, SHE ACTUALLY NEEDED A PERMIT. AND WHEN YOU KNOW THAT PERMIT, OF COURSE, UH, LIVING IN AN HO A YEAH, THAT WAS , UH, A ONE WEEK PROCESS GOING TO THE CITY AND THEN FROM THE CITY GOING TO THE COUNTY, THEY ACTUALLY RECEIVED PERMITS IN A MATTER OF LESS THAN THREE WEEKS. YEAH AND IF YOU THINK BACK TWO OR THREE YEARS AGO THAT SOMETIMES COULD BE A MONTH AND A HALF, TWO MONTHS. YEAH. SO WE HAVE DEFINITELY OVER TIME IMPROVED IN TO THE POINT WHERE UM, FOR THE VARIOUS INSPECTIONS, THEY ARE ACTUALLY GIVEN A EMAIL, UH, THIS THROUGH A PERSON, AND THE PERSON SAID, IF YOU EMAIL ME BEFORE SEVEN, I CAN STILL COME IN THE SAME DAY. YEAH AND, UM UM AND THIS IS WHAT WE'RE GOING TO NEED AT THIS TIME. THIS IS WHAT WE'RE GOING TO NEED AT THIS TIME, SO I DEFINITELY WANNA COMPLIMENT. YEAH, WE PULLED A LOT OF PEOPLE IN FROM OUT OF TOWN. IT SEEMS LIKE, UM PEOPLE I HADN'T SEEN BEFORE. SO UH, IT WAS A GOOD GOOD MOMENT IN TIME. SO THAT'S IT. THANKS. YEAH YEAH. I JUST WANT TO PIGGYBACK ON ON EVERYTHING. YOU KNOW I THE TOWN WAS DURING THE FOUR MINUTES OF IT ACTUALLY HAPPENING. THE TOWN WAS QUIET AND THAT NORMALLY NEVER HAPPENS UNTIL LIKE SUNDAY AFTER SIX O'CLOCK AT NIGHT OR ON CHRISTMAS DAY. IT SEEMS LIKE SO IT WAS REALLY COOL DURING THAT PERIOD OF TIME, AND EVERYBODY WAS JUST OUT AND STARING UP AND NO ONE WAS OUT ON THE ROADS. IT WAS MY FIRST TIME SEEING SOMETHING SOMETHING SOMETHING LIKE THAT. AND IT WAS REALLY COOL TO SEE. UM I ALSO JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT DICK SMITH. UM I SAW HIM AT MY COLLABS AND HE STOPPED ME IN THE HALLWAY AND ONE OF THE AISLES AND ASKED IF I WOULD TRIBUTE.
