SHE WAS THE EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO THE MAYOR IN MULTIPLE MAYORS WHEN REACHING OUT TO PREVIOUS MAYOR CHRIS SCHMENK, SHE GAVE US THESE NOTES WHEN I JOINED THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE AS MAYOR IN 2008, CHRIS WAS INCREDIBLY HELPFUL. SHE MADE ME FEEL COMFORTABLE IMMEDIATELY, AND HER KNOWLEDGE OF THE CITY STRUCTURE HELPED ME HIT THE GROUND RUNNING. CHRIS WAS ALWAYS SMILING AND KNEW HOW TO MAKE ALL OF OUR VISITORS FEEL COMFORTABLE. FROM ELEMENTARY AGE STUDENTS TO OUR BUSINESS LEADERS, CHRIS WAS A REAL ASSET TO MARYSVILLE, AND THE COMMUNITY IS BETTER BECAUSE OF HER. WHEN I CALLED THE CITY, I WAS TOLD, EVEN THOUGH IT CLEARLY STATES IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT HAND CORNER THAT A DEPOSIT WAS TAKEN ON AUGUST 12TH OF 23, THAT NO DEPOSIT WAS TAKEN. THAT DEPOSIT ACTUALLY WENT TO 207 ELLWOOD AVENUE. I BROUGHT THIS TO TIM AND BRAD'S ATTENTION AND HAD A HEATED DISCUSSION WHERE MULTIPLE. I'VE BEEN TOLD, AND THIS IS PARAPHRASING THE CITY PROVIDED A SERVICE IN REGARDLESS OF THE CITY TRANSFERRED THE DEPOSIT OR NOT. THE SERVICE WAS PROVIDED. IF THE TENANT DOESN'T PAY. IT'S MY RESPONSIBILITY AS THE HOMEOWNER TO REACH OUT AND GET IT PAID. ALSO CITING THE CONTRACT, THE OWNER ALSO AGREES AND UNDERSTANDS THAT HE OR SHE IS ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BALANCE NOT COLLECTED FROM THE TENANT. I HAVE ZERO RECOURSE. THE CONTRACT FOR CITY UTILITIES SIGNED BY ALL PARTIES, IS A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT THAT THE CITY REACHED ON AUGUST 12TH OF 23. THE CITY TOOK AWAY ANY RECOURSE I WOULD HAVE HAD WHEN THEY FAILED TO TRANSFER THAT DEPOSIT. THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WAS NOT UPDATED AND THE CITY DECIDED TO GO WITH A VISION PLAN, WHICH IN REALITY IS JUST A MISSION STATION STATEMENT. IT DOESN'T OUTLINE HOW THE SURROUNDING AREAS ARE GOING TO BE DEVELOPED AS THE CITY GROWS. SO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN REALLY ISN'T BEING FOLLOWED BY THE CITY COUNCIL. EVEN THOUGH THE WORDS HAVE BEEN MENTIONED IN RECENT CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS AND STATED IN CITY VISION PLAN THAT'S POSTED ON THE WEBSITE AND THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN IS ALMOST MENTIONED IN EVERY CITY PLANNING MEETING AS WELL. SO WHAT COMPREHENSIVE PLAN IS BEING REFERENCED TO SINCE THE 2018 ONE IS OUTDATED. EVEN THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION WEBSITE STILL HAS IT LISTED AS IT, JUST AS IT'S JUST SECTIONS OF THE 2018 PLAN ARE BEING FILED. AND IF YET WHAT PART SINCE THESE THERE'S FIVE SECTIONS TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. HOW ARE RESIDENTS AND NONRESIDENTS SUPPOSED TO GET AN IDEA WHAT DIRECTION YOUR GROWTH PLANS ARE? IN 2023, THE VILLAGE OF GRANVILLE WAS CAUGHT OFF GUARD BY NACO, WHO PURCHASED 106 ACRES NEAR THE MUNICIPAL WELL FIELD WITH THE INTENT TO PUMP MILLIONS OF GALLONS OF WATER PER DAY TO THE NEW INTEL SITE. I ASK YOU AGAIN IF NACO HAS BEEN DECEITFUL WITH US ON THIS LITTLE ITEM OF A NOISE ORDINANCE THAT DOES NOT EXIST, HOW CAN WE HAVE ANY REASON TO TRUST THEM IN LARGER MATTERS? THIS FAST TRACK, REGULATION SKIPPING MOVE IS SUPPOSED TO HELP ALLEVIATE PRESSURE ON THE GRID FROM THESE HYPER CONSUMERS. I'M ALL FOR THAT. HOWEVER, IT BYPASSES THE LOCAL AUTHORITY'S ABILITY TO STOP A POWER PLANT FROM BEING DEVELOPED.
