MORE THAN 108,000 MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN ARE CURRENTLY AWAITING A LIFE SAVING ORGAN TRANSPLANT IN THE UNITED STATES. AND. AND WHEREAS APPROXIMATELY 17 TIMES A DAY, A PERSON DIES FOR A LACK OF AN AVAILABLE ORGAN, AND WHEREAS OHIO HAS MORE THAN 3000 PEOPLE AWAITING AN ORGAN TRANSPLANT, WITH THE MAJORITY WAITING FOR A KIDNEY TRANSPLANT. AND WHEREAS CENTRAL OHIO HAS MORE THAN 950 MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN CURRENTLY LISTED FOR AN ORGAN TRANSPLANT AT THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY WEXNER MEDICAL CENTER OR NATIONWIDE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL. AND WHEREAS, THE OHIO BUREAU OF MOTOR VEHICLES MAKES IT EASY TO REGISTER YOUR. YES AS AN ADVANCED DIRECTIVE DECISION TO BECOME AN ORGAN, EYE AND TISSUE DONOR ON A DRIVER'S LICENSE PERMIT OR STATE IDENTIFICATION CARD BY SIGNING UP ONLINE AT LIFELINE OHIO DOT, OR BY FILLING OUT A PAPER REGISTRATION FORM. AND.

WHEREAS UNION COUNTY HAS A 67% DONATION REGISTRY RATE, MEANING ABOUT SEVEN OUT OF TEN PEOPLE ASKED ABOUT DONATION AT THE DMV SAY YES. THE NATIONAL AND STATE OF OHIO REGISTRATION RATE IS CURRENTLY AT 61%, AND WHEREAS A SINGLE DONOR CAN POTENTIALLY SAVE EIGHT LIVES THROUGH ORGAN DONATION BY DONATING THEIR HEART, LUNGS, LIVER, PANCREAS, KIDNEYS AND SMALL INTESTINE AND ENHANCE THE LIVES OF MORE THAN 75 OTHERS THROUGH TISSUE AND CORNEA DONATION. AND WHEREAS FOR OVER 40 YEARS, LIFELINE OF OHIO, OUR LOCAL ORGAN PROCUREMENT ORGANIZATION, HAS SERVED CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST OHIO AND HAS BEEN EMPOWERING THE COMMUNITY TO SAVE AND HEAL LIVES THROUGH ORGAN AND TISSUE DONATION. IN THE SPIRIT OF OUR COOPERATION, WE RECOGNIZE THAT THAT PARIS TOWNSHIP DOES RECEIVE A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF ITS GENERAL TAX REVENUE FROM RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE, AND WE BELIEVE IT'S OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE THAT CITY OF MARYSVILLE RESIDENTS BENEFIT FROM THAT PARTNERSHIP. ONE OF THE WAYS WE TRY TO DO SO IS BY CONTRACTING OUR FIRE AND EMS SERVICES WITH THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE. THAT IS OUR SINGLE LARGEST BUDGET LINE ITEM IN THE TOWNSHIP EVERY YEAR, AND IT HAS BEEN FOR MANY DECADES. WE ALSO PARTICIPATE IN THE UNION COUNTY JOINT RECREATION DISTRICT, ALONG WITH THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE AND UNION COUNTY. OUR CONTRIBUTION IS SMALL NUMERICALLY, BUT IT REPRESENTS, I BELIEVE, A LARGER PORTION, A LARGER PERCENTAGE OF OUR OPERATING BUDGET. IF YOU COMPARE THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE CITY AND THE. AND THE COUNTY, RELATIVELY SPEAKING, WE ALSO PARTICIPATE. WE HAVE A CLEANUP DAY EVERY YEAR THAT'S OPEN TO ALL CITY RESIDENTS FOR BRINGING THEIR THEIR JUNK TO OUR DUMPSTERS, AND I'D BE REMISS IF I DIDN'T BRING UP MY FAVORITE PROJECT OVER THE LAST EIGHT YEARS. AS YOU ALL PREPARE TO ROLL YOUR EYES, THE MILL CREEK LOGJAM CLEANUP, WHICH, OF COURSE, PARIS TOWNSHIP HAS BEEN AT THE FOREFRONT OF ADVOCATING THAT NOW FOR FOR EIGHT YEARS, A PROJECT THAT IS GOING TO DIRECTLY IMPACT MARYSVILLE RESIDENTS BY REDUCING AND HOPEFULLY IN MANY CASES, ELIMINATING FLOODING IN SOME OF OUR LOWER LYING CREEK AREAS. SO TONIGHT, I'M HERE TO BASICALLY THANK YOU FOR THAT PARTNERSHIP AND TO ALSO OFFER THAT THANKS TO THE CONVERSATIONS THAT WERE STARTED EARLIER LAST YEAR, SPECIFICALLY WITH C MEMBERS REIMS AND WOLF AND THE CITY LAW DIRECTOR TIM SENIOR AND THE CITY FINANCE DIRECTOR, WE HAVE ENTERED INTO A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE. I'M NOT GOING TO READ THAT MEMORANDUM WORD FOR WORD. HOPEFULLY YOU RECEIVED A COPY OF IT IN YOUR YOUR PACKETS. BUT THE GIST OF IT IS THAT MARYSVILLE WILL RECEIVE A CONTRIBUTION FROM PARIS TOWNSHIP BY OR BEFORE JULY 1ST OF THIS YEAR, NEXT YEAR AND 2028, IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,000 EACH YEAR. THAT MONEY IS TO BE USED FOR PARKS AND PERMANENT IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE PRESERVATION OF GREEN SPACE. I THINK IN SOME OF OUR DISCUSSIONS, WE'VE SPECIFICALLY TALKED ABOUT UTILIZING IT TO ENHANCE AND IMPROVE THE THE PARK SPACE THAT THE SCOTT FAMILY PARK OFF OF CHERRY STREET AND WALDO ROAD, THE INTERSECTION OF THE CITY AND THE TOWNSHIP. AND THAT MONEY WILL BE RELEASED IN COOPERATION BETWEEN THE TRUSTEES AND THE COUNCIL. SO WE APPRECIATE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TO CONTRIBUTE AND TO GIVE SOMETHING BACK TO THE CITY. SO OUR MUNICIPAL POOL SEASON PASSES ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT A 15% DISCOUNT NOW THROUGH APRIL 30TH, AND PASSES MAY BE PURCHASED ONLINE VIA OUR REC DESK, AND THE POOL OPENS FOR THE SEASON ON SATURDAY, MAY 23RD. SO THE LAST TEN YEARS I HARBOR, I GUESS IT'S PROBABLY WELL OVER $100 MILLION WORTH OF PROJECTS OR VERY CLOSE TO THAT AT THIS POINT. AND WE HAVE NOT ISSUED $0.01 OF DEBT RELATED TO THAT.
