BUT AT THE SAME TIME THAT WE DID THAT, THE SAME CONSULTANT WAS GOING TO BE TAKING A LOOK AT THE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE OF OUR CITY AND HOW WE'RE SET UP TO BE AS EFFICIENT AND AS EFFECTIVE AS WE CAN BE. AND IN THE EARLY STAGES OF OF THE WORK THERE WE HAVE, YOU KNOW, WE HAVE RECOGNIZED A WEAKNESS OR, AND, AND MAYBE EVEN MORE THAT'LL COME A LITTLE BIT LATER. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE EXTREMELY LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER AND ELECTRICITY USED TO RUN THESE TYPES OF DATA CENTERS, AND THE MORE THEY INTEGRATE AI INTO OUR TECHNOLOGY AND OUR EVERYDAY LIVES, THE MORE DATA CENTERS THEY NEED AND THE MORE VITAL RESOURCES WILL BE USED FOR MACHINES INSTEAD OF PEOPLE. EXCUSE ME, I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF AIR POLLUTION, NOISE POLLUTION AND WATER POLLUTION. YES, EVEN WITH A CLOSED LOOP SYSTEM, I'M CONCERNED ABOUT PEOPLE WHO ARE ALREADY STRUGGLING WITH RISING COSTS, HAVING TO FACE EVEN HIGHER UTILITY BILLS AND OTHER SUCH THINGS. THE PREVIOUS SPEAKER SPOKE ABOUT THAT. OHIO NOW SITS AT NUMBER SIX. WE HAVE ABOUT 200 DATA CENTERS. THERE'S A LOT. IF YOU LOOK IN THE EASTERN COAST, VIRGINIA HAS LIKE 600. SO THERE ARE A LOT OF DATA CENTERS. AND THEY CALL THIS THE NEW GOLD RUSH IN TECH. THERE'S THIS DATA CENTER FRENZY. THEY CAN'T WORK FAST ENOUGH TO GET THESE THINGS UP AND RUNNING. MANY OF THOSE THAT SUPPORT IT. AND THERE ARE ARGUMENTS CERTAINLY ON BOTH SIDES OF THE EQUATION. THEY WANT OHIO TO BE THE SILICON VALLEY OF THE MIDWEST. MAYBE YOU FOLKS HAVE HEARD ABOUT THAT.

THIS IS JUST A SMATTERING OF THINGS THAT I PULLED OUT OF THE INTERNET AND OTHER SOURCES IN THE LAST MONTH OR SO. YOU CAN SEE BY 2028, DATA CENTERS ARE EXPECTED TO CONSUME ABOUT 12% OF ALL ELECTRICITY. THAT'S A LOT OF ELECTRICITY, WOULDN'T YOU SAY? AND SO THERE'S THIS GROUNDSWELL ACTIVITY UNDER UNDERWAY RIGHT NOW. THERE IS A GENUINE CONCERN FROM CITIZENS ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THESE DATA CENTERS AND WHAT IS WHAT IT WHAT THE IMPACT WILL BE IN TERMS OF COST OF UTILITIES AND THE LAND MANAGEMENT AND SO FORTH. AND SO YOU'VE PROBABLY HEARD ABOUT THIS. THERE'S A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT THERE. THEY'RE NOW IN THE GATHERING STAGE, THE SIGNATURES. THEIR GOAL IS TO PUSH THIS AS AN AMENDMENT. AND IF IT GETS ON THE BALLOT AND IF IT PASSES, THERE WILL BE A LIMIT ON HOW MANY, YOU KNOW, HOW BIG THESE DATA CENTERS CAN BE. I BELIEVE IT'S 25MW, WHICH WOULD BE A VERY SMALL DATA CENTER IN THAT PARTICULAR SCHEME. THE STATE HOUSE, THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE HERE IN OHIO. IT'S IT'S HOUSE. SECOND ONE, MARYSVILLE SOUTH, ALSO KNOWN AS ANNA DONNA, NEW ALBANY COMPANY, WEAVER ROAD, WITH AN UNKNOWN NUMBER OF BUILDINGS TOTALING UP TO 1,000,000FTā !S APPROVED. AND THE COUNCIL MEETING ON MARCH 9TH, IT WAS DISCUSSED. THE DEVELOPER ASKED FOR AROUND 400,000 GALLONS IN THE CITY, COUNTERED WITH 40,000 PER DAY. QUESTION IS THIS PER BUILDING? ANOTHER QUESTION I HAVE IS HOW MUCH ELECTRICITY WILL THESE DATA CENTERS DEMAND ON MARCH 26TH AT THE BUSINESS IMPACT BREAKFAST, U R U R E CLARIFIED THAT THE CURRENT GRID INFRASTRUCTURE CAN'T CURRENTLY SUPPORT THE PROJECTED FUTURE DEMAND. IF SIGNIFICANT LONG TERM UPGRADES ARE NEEDED, WHO PAYS FOR THAT? SO THAT'S ANOTHER QUESTION. AND ANOTHER BIG QUESTION I HAVE, AND THIS IS A RESULT OF ME SPEAKING AT THE PLANNING COMMISSION LAST WEEK. SO I RAISED THIS QUESTION LAST WEEK AND WAS TOLD THAT CLOSED LOOP SYSTEMS WOULD BE A GREAT SOLUTION TO MY CONCERNS ABOUT WATER POLLUTION. ADMITTEDLY, PRIOR TO THIS MEETING, I DIDN'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT. I HEARD THE TERM CLOSED LOOP SYSTEM, BUT I DID SOME RESEARCH AND IT WAS HORRIFYING. COMPANIES OFTEN CLAIM THAT THE WATER IS IS FILLED ONCE AND RECYCLED FOREVER, BUT RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THE HEAT GENERATED FROM THE CHIPS REQUIRES THEM TO BLEED THE LINES TO AVOID MELTING THE SERVERS. THAT LIQUID NEEDS TO BE EVAPORATED OR DISCHARGED. IT DOESN'T STAY IN THE LOOP, AND THOSE FOREVER CHEMICALS MUST BE EVAPORATED INTO THE AIR OR DISCHARGED INTO A TREATMENT FACILITY OR SURROUNDING BODY OF WATER.AGAIN, INTRODUCING FOREVER CHEMICALS. QUESTIONS ON THIS IS THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT CENTER EVEN PREPARED TO PROCESS THIS? IN CLOSING, THESE DATA CENTERS ARE ONLY GOING TO BENEFIT TRILLION DOLLAR COMPANIES. OUR COMMUNITY, WATER, ELECTRIC GRID AND ENVIRONMENT WILL BE THE ONES PAYING THE PRICE.
